Artist and collector, Dina Broadhurst's work has been described as an orgy of simplicity. A Helmut Newton meets Kim Kardashian vibe.
Working in the fields of collage, photography, and appropriation art, Broadhurst uses a combination of her own, as well as found images, models, muses, as well as studies of her own physicality, to evoke new messages, expanding the viewers ways of seeing, creating unique juxtapositions and layers of desire.
Having appeared in group shows within her home town Australia, as well as internationally, Broadhurst exhibited her first 2 solo shows in 2017- A live exhibition in collaboration with shopping giant Westfield Chermside, QLD, transforming their entire fashion precinct over 3 levels, taking her signature style to new heights of interaction and scale.
Her photographic collages came to life with the addition of dramatic 3D elements protruding from the 2D surfaces, where Broadhurst worked with an array of iconic Australian brands, creating bespoke artworks, in addition to a showcase of her personal work, side by side, all bought to life as floor-to-ceiling hoardings, the largest work measuring over 40 meters in length.
