Q1: Hi Stephanie! Welcome to the Woman Of Series! Can you tell us what it is you create?
It is my pleasure. We create hand-blown colored glass cake stands, glassware and decanters.
Q2: When did you start Estelle Colored Glass? What inspired you to go down this path?
We introduced our brand in October 2019. I was inspired to go down this path after I discovered that colored glass was a dying art form only found largely on the secondary vintage market. I discovered this after trying to find some colored glass pieces to include in my forever collection of tableware after moving into a new home we had built.
My love for colored glass began as a child as result of me accompanying my grandmother, Estelle, on antiquing trips in small, neighbouring South Carolina towns.
Q3: Talk us through your creative process. How do you reach your signature style?
We hired an industrial designer to design the cake stand and we formulated all the soft pastel and jewel tone colors that are part of the collection. Our signature style is chic, clean lines and stylish.
Q4: What is your favourite piece you’ve created? Why?
My favorite piece is our lavender cake stand in lavender. I was inspired by Elie Saab gown.
Q5: What single tool or strategy have you found invaluable to your business so far?
Instagram marketing has been a game changer and awesome for helping us build our brand.
Q6: What (and who) is involved in the process of bringing your pieces to life?
The pieces are produced in Poland by glass artisans.
Q7: What is your big hope and dream for your work?
I hope our pieces make people happy and are a part of celebrations with family and friends that are memorable.
Q8: What are your top 3 superpowers?
I have faith in God who is a superpower or all powerful.
Q9: We’re all about women inspiring women. Who inspires you?
So many women who currently inspire me don’t know where to begin naming.
Q10: What advice would you impart on the next generation of women, and women in business?
Start early in business. Don’t be afraid to fail because failure leads to success if we are consistent and determined.
