It's the unofficial start of wedding season for us Queenslanders, with the Summer gone and the ability to walk around without our limbs sticking together and finding a new sunglass tan every time we leave the house sans SPF... and we couldn't be more excited.

Personally, this year's a big one for weddings with a bunch of our nearest and dearest tying the knot and doing so in style.. and we have an inkling its not just these, but a lot of new marriages blossoming into 2021.

Anyone who has planned or been involved in the planning of a wedding knows just how overwhelming the process can be, especially choosing the perfect gown.. and of course true to our Aussie ways the demand for something unique and of our own is high.

So we thought we would give you a hand up with our 3 favourite Aussie bridal designers who are doing things differently.

Christie Nicole Bridal is the true Aussie brides dream (well ours that is). Designing one-of-a-kind bridal gowns for women who delight in the delicacy & intricacy of couture fashion.

Owner, designer and seamstress of the namesake label, Christie Trowbridge fell into her love for creating wedding gowns after doing so for a friend in 2016.

Christies pieces are elegant, edgy, modern and innovative. Christie not only creates custom gowns but has recently launched her first bridal couture collection 'Adele'

Leto Bridal
is contemporary bridal focused on sustainability and all made right here in Australia. Re-imagining traditional silhouettes with a contemporary touch the brands philosophy comes from a desire to make individual choices when it comes to creating bridal wear.

Creating truely unique pieces that are influenced by the world around us, their latest collection SLOW boasts silk satin and delicate pieces, among gowns; luxurious suits and separates are incorporated in an ode to the modern woman.

Lola Varma,
designed for the modern romantic is the creation of fashion and wedding photographer Courtney Illfield. When photographing brides who didn't quite connect with their chosen gowns, Courtney's line of unconventional designs was born.

Marrying high fashion and everyday apparel, Lola Varma is a modern brides dream. Stepping away from the traditional, silk satin or lace only bridal trends, their latest collection My Paradise offers something for everyone in ways of fabric, silhouette and sentiment.
